Villagers in central China have been using dinosaur bones as medicine. They believed the bones were from dragons and had special healing powers!
Villagers in the Henan region of central China dug up a ton of dinosaur bones and boiled them in soup or ground them into powder for traditional medicine, believing they were from flying dragons and had healing powers.
The fossil bones are sold as "dragon bones" for about 25 cents a pound, and were boiled with other ingredients to make soup for the sick, or were ground up and made into a paste that was applied directly to fractures and other injuries.
This practice had been going on for at least two decades.
